The following are abbreviated minutes
of the Wisconsin River Sportsmen's Club's meetings. Contact the club
secretary for complete minutes.
May 1, 2008
- Discussed results of Super Raffle.
- Reminder of May 10 fishing day at
Lake Marion in Mazomanie.
- Concrete work has been completed.
Fencing, grass, and granite pathway were discussed.
- Discussed worker schedule for June
sporting clays shoot. Those interested in signing up should contact
Roger Feldt.
- Motion made and approved to join the
Mazomanie Chamber of Commerce.
April 4, 2008
- First reading for B. Schubelka (J.Viney,
sponsor), J. Komizuski (M. Schoenemann, sponsor), R. Schlamp (T.Mabin,
sponsor)
- Approved cement work around scorehouse.
- Reminder about Family Fishing Day
on May 10.
- Sporting Clays scheduled June 22.
Contact Roger Feldt regarding work schedule. Need volunteer to handle
chicken shoot.
- Super Raffle: April 24, 6 p.m., at
club house to coordinate raffle activities, prizes, etc. On April
26, setup begins at 1 p.m.; workers eat at 5; dinner begins at 6:30
p.m. Early bird deadline is April 15.
- Don Severson won Winter Trap League
with score of 196.
- April 19 is clean-up day at club,
beginning at 9 a.m. All members are encouraged to bring equipment
(e.g. gloves, rakes, shovels, chainsaws, wheelbarrows, etc.)
- Spring Trap League begins May 8.
March 6, 2008
- Super Raffle will be held April 26.
- Game Feed results were discussed.
An advertising committee will be formed for next year.
- Several club
maintenance issues were discussed and a committee formed.
- July meeting
date has been changed from the 3rd to the 10th.
- Will sponsor
the Lake Marion Family Fishing Day again this year.
- 32 students
are registered for Hunter Safety.
February 7, 2008
- First reading
for Tony Hageny.
- Discussed smoking
in clubhouse. New exhaust fans will be installed.
- Tom Mabin will
replace Tom Vils as Treasurer.
- Game Feed tickets:
$15 in advance; $18 at door. Workers should plan to be there from
3-7 p.m. All members are asked to bring desserts.
November 1, 2007
- First reading
for John Puckett, Mazomanie.
- Received check
for Wild West Days work. Wild West Days worker party will be held
January 12 at the WRSC clubhouse at 5 p.m. Attendees should bring
dish to pass or munchies.
- Motion made
and approved to change membership fee to $75 to include raffle tickets
(excludes new members for first year).
- Christmas party
will be held December 8. Teams are responsible for arrangements.
Members with last names beginning A-L should bring a dessert; M-Z
should bring a salad.
August 2, 2007 Meeting Minutes Highlights
- Discussed work
schedules, clean-up, and other details for the August 5 Sporting
Clays and Chicken Shoot.
- Set-up schedule
for Wild West Days in September 4, 5 and 6, with clean-up September
10, 11 and 12.
- Other items
discussed included changing points system for membership and membership
dues.
July 5, 2007 Meeting Minutes Highlights:
- Doc Bierman
and Jerry Meicher donated two tree stands to the club for use during
Hunter Safety classes.
- Next Sport
Clays and Chicken Shoot will be held August 5. Members are needed
to sign up on work schedule.
June 7, 2007 Meeting Minutes Highlights:
- WRSC received
thanks from organizers of the Fishing Day at Lake Marion. 212 kids
registered for the event.
- Discussed new
wearables with logo for WRSC.
- Discussed plans
for upcoming sporting clays and chicken shoot.
- Second reading
and approval for Jim Dailey (sponsor
Mark Schoenemann).
- Approved sponsorships/donations
to Mazo Home Talent Team, Mazomanie Swim Team, and Roxbury summer
raffle.
May 2, 2007 Meeting Minutes Highlights:
- Discussion
about recent Super Raffle. Cecil Roberts offered budget details
about Super Raffle, and Wally Hansen offered checklist to use for
next year's event. Motion made regarding including raffle tickets
in future membership dues. Decision in November.
- First Merchandise
Shoot and Sporting Clays event will be Sunday, June 10. See Roger
Feldt to signup on work roster. J.J. Falk will check with FFA to
see if they want to sell food at the event.
- May 10 is first
night for summer trap league.
- Thanks to Tom
Vils for freezer donation.
- Ken Frank investigating
new club-logo shirts and hats.
- Received flag
from club member John P. Falk which accompanied his helicopter crew
on missions in Iraq. Appropriate display options are being investigated.
A donation from the club will be made toward supplies for Falk and
the helicopter crew.
April 5, 2007 Meeting Minutes Highlights:
- Second reading
and approval for R. Lovely, sponsor O. Codero. Membership approved
for Tim Drager. First reading for J. Daley, sponsor Mark Schoenemann.
- Super Raffle
work schedule discussed. Turn tickets in by April 15 to qualify
for early bird. Auggie will be at club from 10-noon on April 15.
- Discussed and
agreed to donations for fishing contest and Easter egg hunt.
- Winter league
winner Tom Bristol; Ric Henn runner-up.
- 25 students
attending Hunter Education.
- Club cleanup
scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on April 21.
- Adopt-a-Highway
starts 5 p.m. on Wednesday April 18.
- May 10 is first
night for summer trap league.
- Approved purchase
of 2 tree ladder stands for next Hunter Education class.
March 1, 2007 Meeting Minutes Highlights:
- First reading
for R. Lovely, sponsor O. Codero.
- Second reading
for R. Hutter. Approved.
- Discussed Game
Feed. Motion made to enforce "you serve it, you clean it"
policy next year following meal.
- Discussed activities
associated with May 12 Kid's Fishing Day.
- Super Raffle
and gun raffle tickets available. Super Raffle money must be turned
in by April 15 to be eligible for Early Bird winnings.
January 5, 2007 Meeting Minutes Summary:
- Reinstated
R. Peterson, a past member who has returned to the area.
- First reading
for J. Schoenemann, sponsor M. Schoenemann.
- WRSC Game Feed
scheduled for 4-6 p.m. February 24 at Sand Bar in Arena. Tickets
$15. Work roster and game donations discussed. Set-up should begin
around noon; servers and other workers should arrive at 3 p.m. Members
A-L should bring salads; M-Z should bring desserts. Contact Bob
Pailing for more tickets and roster duty.

December 7, 2006 Meeting Minutes Summary:
- Wild West Days
worker appreciation party to be held January 27, beginning around
5 p.m. All to bring dish to pass.
- Club Championship
shoot and member Christmas party scheduled for Saturday, December
9. The shoot will occur 12-4 p.m.; the Christmas party will begin
around 4 p.m.; dinner at 5:30 p.m.
- WRSC Game Feed
scheduled for February 24 at Sand Bar in Arena.
- WRSC Super
Raffle scheduled for April 28 at Sand Bar in Arena.
- Discussed winter

- 2007 director
election results: Bob Pailing, President; Auggie Kruchten, Vice

October 5, 2006 Meeting Minutes Summary:
- Due to cold
and wet conditions at Wild West Days, no payout expected.
- Club Championship
shoot and Christmas party scheduled for Saturday, December 9. The
shoot will occur 12-4 p.m.; the Christmas party will begin around
4 p.m.
- The second
of the semi-annual Golden BB competitions with Roxbury Gun Club
is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, at WRSC.
- The bow stand
is near completion.
August 3, 2006 Meeting Minutes Summary:

enrolled in this year's Hunter Safety Education program.

is again scheduled for the 3rd Wednesday of each month and will
begin April 19 at 5 p.m.

February 5, 2006 Meeting Minutes Summary:

discussed. Event will include dice game and raffle for two rifles.

Servers to arrive between 3-3:30 p.m. Members to contact Bob Pailing
for tickets.
- Discussed possible
purchase or new mower and sale of two old riders.
- Discussed possibility
of 1) donating .410 shells to junior shooter and 2) purchasing gun
or stock for current gun for smaller shooters. Will investigate
Vossburg youth program options for next meeting.
January 5, 2006 Meeting Minutes Summary:
- Second readings
and motion to approve members Brian Glad, Megan Powers and Tim Roberts.
- Noted that
$500 was donated to Wisconsin Heights Family Services at Christmas
party.
- Winter trap
league dates discussed.
- 2005 club shooting
champion: Don Severson. Golden BB Award competition was won by Roxbury
Trap Club.
- Kudos to Rod,
Leslie, and everyone else involved in planning the outstanding 2005
Christmas party.
- Rental rules
were discussed and approved. Bob and Joan will develop a checklist
for cleaning.
- Game feed work
assignments were discussed. Event will include dice game and raffle
for two rifles. Members with last names A-L to bring salads; M-Z
to bring desserts. Members to contact Bob Pailing for tickets.
- Reminder to
members about points requirement to maintain membership and that
sponsors are also mentors for the first year. Those that did not
make points in 2005 not eligible for membership in 2006 but can
join again in 2007.
- Approved $100
Bristol ATA shoot sponsorship.
- Approved $50
6th grade student People-to-People sponsorship.
